Shipping Policy

1. Shipping Options & Delivery Costs
We offer the following shipping options. You will be asked to select a shipping method at checkout. Prices shown are the minimum applicable rate; heavier orders will attract a higher charge, calculated by the weight of your order.
In-Store Collection — Free
You may collect your order from our Leeds branch without extra charge. Orders placed before 12pm are usually ready for collection after 2pm on the same working day, unless we have contacted you to inform you of any products that are out of stock. Orders placed after 12pm will not be ready until after 2pm on the next working day. Please do not arrive for collection before your allocated time.
Royal Mail Services
Royal Mail services are suitable for small parcel orders. These services are not guaranteed timed; delivery within the stated aim is not assured and may occasionally take longer, particularly during busy periods. Full end-to-end tracking is included with both services.
Royal Mail Tracked 48 — Small Parcel | £5.40
Royal Mail aims to deliver within 2–3 working days; however, this timeframe is not guaranteed. Delivery may occasionally extend beyond 3 working days depending on operational conditions.

Royal Mail Tracked 24 — Small Parcel | £6.60
Royal Mail aims to deliver the next working day; however, this timeframe is not guaranteed and delivery may take up to 2 working days. For further delivery information, please see the Royal Mail Tracked 48 link above.
APC Courier — UK Mainland
All courier deliveries are fulfilled by APC. Orders placed before 12pm on a working day are processed and dispatched the same day. Orders placed after 12pm are processed and dispatched the next working day, with delivery on the subsequent working day.

Next working day delivery with a pre-noon delivery aim. Price is weight-dependent.
APC Saturday Next Day Parcel | from £17.40
Next day delivery on the next available Saturday. Price is weight-dependent.
APC Saturday Next Day Parcel — London ULEZ Zone | from £19.20
Saturday next day delivery to addresses within the London ULEZ zone. Price is weight-dependent.
APC Before 10:30 Next Day Parcel | from £22.80
Next working day delivery with a pre-10:30am delivery aim. Price is weight-dependent.
APC Courier — Regional Surcharge Areas
The following services apply to deliveries outside the standard UK mainland zone. Rates are weight-dependent and reflect additional carrier surcharges for these destinations.
APC Next Day — Scottish Borders | from £13.80
Next working day delivery to Scottish Borders postcodes (DG1-14, DG16, KA5-7, KA18-19, KA26, TD1-15). Price is weight-dependent.
APC Next Day — Scottish Central | from £12.60
Next working day delivery to Scottish Central postcodes (DD1-7, EH1-55, FK1-6, G1-78, KA1-4, KA8-17, KA20-25, KA29-30, KY1-16, ML1-12, PA1-19, PH1-2, PH14). Price is weight-dependent.
APC 2–5 Day — Scottish Mainland | from £24.00
Delivery within 2–5 working days to Scottish mainland postcodes (AB10-16, AB21-25, AB30-36, AB39, AB41-42, AB51-54, DD8-11, FK7-21, IV1-20, IV23-25, IV30-32, IV36, IV63, KY66, PA21-38, PA80, PH3-13, PH15-26, PH30-41, PH49-50). Price is weight-dependent.
APC 2–5 Day — Scottish Remote & Offshore | from £36.60
Delivery within 2–5 working days to remote Scottish postcodes (AB37-38, AB43-45, AB55-56, IV21-22, IV26-28, IV40-56, PA20, PA41-49, PA60-78, PH42-44, ZE1-3, KA27-28, KW1-17, HS1-9) including the Highlands, Hebrides, Orkney, and Shetland. Price is weight-dependent.
APC 3–5 Day Parcel — Northern Ireland | from £35.40
Delivery within 3–5 working days to Northern Ireland (BT postcodes). Price is weight-dependent.
APC Next Day — Isle of Wight | from £27.60
Next working day delivery to Isle of Wight (PO30–PO41) postcodes. Price is weight-dependent.
APC 2–5 Day — Jersey & Guernsey | from £46.80
Delivery within 2–5 working days to Channel Islands, Jersey (JE1-4) and Guernsey (GY1-8, GY10) postcodes. Price is weight-dependent.
APC 2–5 Day — Isle of Man | from £42.60
Delivery within 2–5 working days to Isle of Man (IM) postcodes. Price is weight-dependent.
APC 2–5 Day — Alderney, Herm & Sark | from £74.40
Delivery within 2–5 working days to Alderney, Herm, and Sark (GY9 postcodes). Price is weight-dependent.
Pallet Delivery & Free Delivery Options
Economy Pallet Delivery — UK Mainland (over 30kg) | £150.00
For orders exceeding 30kg where pallet delivery is required.
FREE 2–3 Day Pallet Delivery — UK Mainland | Free
Available on qualifying machinery orders only. Delivered on a pallet to a UK mainland address within 2–3 working days.
FREE Next Day Pallet Delivery — UK Mainland | Free (subject to address)
Available on qualifying machinery orders only. Delivered on a pallet to a UK mainland address the next working day. Subject to delivery address — eligibility is confirmed at checkout.
FREE Delivery, Installation & Training — UK Mainland | Free
Available on qualifying machinery orders only. Delivery, installation, and training are included at no additional cost to UK mainland addresses.
Other Options
I will arrange my own collection via courier | Free
If you wish to arrange your own courier collection from our Leeds premises, please select this option at checkout and contact our office to confirm a suitable time.

2. Order Processing
Orders placed on a next day service or for in-store collection before 12pm Monday to Friday are processed and dispatched the same working day.
Orders placed after 12pm will be processed and dispatched the next working day.
Orders placed on a 2–3 working day service will be processed and dispatched within 2–3 working days.
We do not process or dispatch orders on weekends or UK public holidays. Orders placed on these days will be processed on the next working day.
Occasionally, items may be subject to a slightly longer processing time if they are out of stock or subject to a delay from the manufacturer. We will contact you by email or telephone in such circumstances.
3. Delivery Addresses
Please ensure that your delivery address is accurate and complete at the time of ordering. We may not be able to modify your shipping address once an order has been placed. If you need to make a change, please contact our office as soon as possible and we will endeavour to accommodate your request, though this cannot be guaranteed.
Stocks Sewing Machines Ltd is not held liable for non-delivery, loss, or delay arising from an incorrect address provided by the customer.
We do not ship to P.O. boxes.
4. Tracking Your Order
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking number and a link to the carrier's website. You can use this to monitor your delivery at any time.
For APC courier deliveries, you will also receive a notification from APC directly on the day of delivery, confirming your delivery window.
For Royal Mail deliveries, tracking updates are provided at key stages of transit. Please note that tracking can occasionally pause for up to 48 hours due to depot scanning practices.

5. Failed Deliveries & Missed Parcels
If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the carrier will leave a notification card or send an email/SMS notification with instructions on how to rearrange delivery or collect from a local depot.
APC will typically make one delivery attempt. If delivery cannot be completed, the parcel will be held at the local APC depot for a period before being returned to us. Please contact APC directly or our office to rearrange delivery.
If a parcel is returned to us as undelivered due to an incorrect address, failure to rearrange delivery, or refusal of delivery, we reserve the right to charge for re-delivery.
6. Damaged or Missing Items
We take great care in packing all orders. However, if your order arrives damaged or if items are missing, please:
• Note any visible damage on the carrier’s delivery record at the time of receipt.
• Contact our office within 48 hours of delivery by telephone on 0113 242 9378 or email [email protected].
• Retain all packaging materials until the matter is resolved, as these may be required for a carrier claim.
• Provide photographic evidence of damage where possible.
Claims for damage or shortage reported after 48 hours may be difficult to pursue with the carrier and cannot be guaranteed.
7. Lost Parcels
A parcel is considered lost if it has not been delivered within the following timeframes from the date of dispatch:
• APC services: 10 working days
• Royal Mail Tracked 24 / Tracked 48: 10 working days
If your parcel has not arrived within these timeframes and tracking shows no activity, please contact our office. We will raise a claim with the carrier on your behalf. Please note that carriers require a minimum period to elapse before a parcel can be declared lost, and investigations can take time to complete.
8. International Orders
We do not currently ship internationally. All orders must be placed for delivery to a UK address.
9. Shipping Costs & Weight
Courier delivery rates are calculated based on the weight of your order. The prices listed in Section 1 represent the minimum rate for each service (applicable to the lightest weight band). Heavier orders will attract a higher rate, which will be displayed at checkout once products have been added to your basket.
Shipping costs are inclusive of VAT where applicable. You will see the full shipping cost before confirming your order.
10. Pallet Deliveries
Pallet deliveries are to kerb-side only. The driver is not obligated to carry goods inside your premises. Please ensure an able-bodied person is available to receive the delivery and that adequate equipment (such as a pallet truck) is available if required.
For FREE delivery, installation, and training on qualifying machinery orders, our own engineer will arrange a mutually convenient appointment date with you following purchase. This is separate from the standard courier network.
11. Delivery Timescale Disclaimer
All delivery timescales stated are estimates provided by the carrier and are not contractually guaranteed (except where a guaranteed timed service is explicitly offered, such as APC Before 10:30 or Before 12:00). Stocks Sewing Machines Ltd cannot be held liable for delays that are outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
• Carrier delays due to high parcel volumes (e.g. during peak seasons)
• Adverse weather conditions
• Industrial action
• Customs or border delays (Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland)
• Incorrect or incomplete delivery addresses
If your delivery is time-critical, we recommend selecting a guaranteed timed service and contacting our office prior to placing your order to confirm availability.
