We work closely with Liz Woodhouse at Embroidery Academy to delivery advanced training and mentoring, drawing on over 30 years of experience to help you improve efficiency, productivity and get the very best from your investment.

Liz Woodhouse is the founder and driving force behind Embroidery Academy, bringing over 30 years of hands-on experience in the embroidery and print industry to every training session. She began her career as a draftsperson at Geoffrey E. MacPherson Ltd at the age of 19, progressing to digitising and training roles before co-founding her own embroidery business, Elle Designs. After working in business development and sales across all areas of garment decoration machinery, Liz identified a gap in practical production training — knowledge she now shares through the Academy. Her mission is to help embroiderers of all levels become confident, competent and commercially successful.
Services
Liz’s group workshops are hands-on sessions designed to boost practical machine embroidery skills across a wide range of production techniques, from tensioning and framing to badgemaking, 3D embroidery and appliqué work. These workshops are ideal for beginners through to experienced embroiderers who want to refine their craft and connect with peers. We host Group Workshops at our Leeds showroom, giving local and visiting customers a focused, collaborative learning environment.
For businesses and individuals looking for concentrated skill development, Liz offers bespoke one-to-one or team training tailored to your specific needs. This full-day training can be delivered at your own premises, allowing Liz to work directly with your team in your production environment. Each bespoke programme includes a free telephone consultation to assess your current level and requirements, with pricing determined by the complexity and depth of training needed.
Liz also delivers a comprehensive series of live webinars covering essential topics in machine embroidery, including techniques, supplier insights, product knowledge, and effective use of social media for business growth. These webinars are led by industry experts and designed to fit around your schedule, helping you stay up to date with best practices and trends without travelling.
